Marbury v.Madison is considered one of the most important cases in U.S history because it was the first time the Supreme Court could declare an act of congress to be unconstitutional.
It gave the Judicial Branch a power called Judicial Review.
Judicial Review is the power the Supreme Court to declare if a law is unconstitutional or not.
Yes I think that the Supreme Court should have the power to determine if a law is constitutional because they are a group of highly educated people. The Supreme court takes a good hard look at the law to see if there are any flaws. If they see one and if it violates the U.S Constitution in any way, they will declare it as unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is the last line of defence so that is why they need this power.

The case was so important because that was the first time the Supreme Court had ever decided that an act was unconstitutional, which set the base for many laws made in the future, and also officially helped the Judicial branch be considered the third governmental branch.

2. It gave the Judicial branch the power to stop the other two branches from doing acts that were unconstitutional, called judicial review.

3. Judicial review ensures that the whole government is following the Constitution.

4. I think that the Supreme Court should definitely have the power to make the decision of whether something is constitutional, because if they are in that position of power, we as citizens should trust them with the document that they have studied extensively to be able to attain their leadership.
