I’m 53 and still learning exploring and discovering who I am. The path to this moment of putting my thoughts out into The electronic wilderness , has been long, painful, beautiful, sad, incredible and I am grateful to see the value in each and every moment and tear shed. But hey, let’s get real here.. when those tears are shedding, it sure as hell doesn’t feel like I’m going to be thankful about it all.

So about this page… well, I grew up in a good ol small farm town, church on every corner. Literally. Mine was the ELCA, evangelical Lutheran church of America. It was a big part of my life for the first 28 turns around the sun. Next stop, the Catholic Church. Very large part of my life again. For different reasons at this point. College, marriage moving to another state… losing pregnancies, a child deploying to war, great loneliness in a relationship… I got lost… I felt so small and unloved or cared for by my creator… no community to pray with… another move tow more boys a divorce and working as a full time nurse… I missed My Creator, I knew they were present, I just didn’t feel it.

I became so hungry for a faith community, prayer and worship…… and so begins this chapter of my life..

Oh .. Psalm 27…

How I love that psalm. I have held onto that psalm since I was a child. It has traveled with me through the seasons and storms of my life, and I know will always stay with me. It has given me strength and comfort, reassurance and hope.

When I heard that this is a Psalm for Elul, I thought.. oh here you are again, always staying with me. Reminding me that HaShem is always there, never will leave me, leading me, loving me.
