Recital Piece - Practice on that counting, and really REALLY emphasize the dynamics. Make it your own song. Flow the dynamics as well.

Scales - Practice your minor scales in the order of the Circle of Fifths. Practice playing both octaves on minor scales. Really review the sharps and flats of the minors. Continue to keep practicing the inversions of the chords and cadences.

Do not forget you dynamics! Dynamics are very important as well as your staccatos. Staccatos mean you make it jumpy. Also, careful with the last line where you have to watch your counting and keep your left hand in tempo, do not go too slow. DO NOT RUSH! STAY IN TEMPO!

Rustic Dance: Careful with measure 27 in the left hand that is a half note so you hold it for two beats!

On My Way: Great job, it will sound amazing if you add dynamcs when you play it!

Friendly Phatom: When you practice it at home, take it slowly and count. Do not forget your staccatos and dynamics! And measures 11, 13, and 14 have circled notes so you do not forget to play them.

Greek Festival - I LOVE the dynamics and the staccatos - keep it up! :) This piece is very dramatic and full of fun so have fun playing it!

Minuet in G major. - practice slowly! Love the melody in the right hand, make the left hand less legato and more like a drum

Ballade - right hand needs to be softer than the left hand during the first page because the left hand carries the melody. later on when the right hand carries the melody, the left hand can be softer. The melody should be heard the most! This piece could also use more dynamics, make it dramatic!

Caprice - this piece is great! Add more dynamics to make it go from an A to an A+ Dynamics doesn't just mean make your playing, it also means make you pianos SOFTER. Overall, fantastic job!!

Today we mainly worked on finishing the Sonatina (it is now fully hands together) and also touching up on some of the notes for avalanche (first page)

Sonatina - play the Minore fully hands together and review any measures that you need extra practice with hands separate first. Remember to go back to the Rondo at the coda sign after the Minore. Once going through the Rondo the second time, return back to the last page for the coda.

Avalanche - first page is finished hands together! great job! Make sure to review measures with a lot of chords (measure 13-16 and 28-32) hands spearately and then hands together. Use the same method that we used to learn the sonatina to learn the second page of this piece (one line at a time, right hand only 2-4 times, left hand only 2-4 times, and then hands together)

Andante Section
- Make sure to start hands separate and to play extremely slow. It should feel too slow, and then pay close attention to every beat of every measure as the notes change in the left hand in variations.
3rd Movement
- Rondo section
- Practice hands separate. Make sure to contrast staccatos vs legato playing where indicated.

4. Bach Invention- Work phrasing into the music. It's more than just playing notes.
- Practice slowly, articulate and make sure to accent where indicated.
- Practice with the book in front of you.

- Piano (p) dynamic markings should still sound and be heard, they must be played with more intensity.
- Work on endings of cadences, remember to lower your wrist and then bring it up while simultaneously playing the last note. This will allow for a better ending and more contrast between notes.
