   Some of the most well known contributions of the civilization were their navigational and farming advancements. In order to better control and make way throughout their empire, they had constructed over 16,000km of stone-paved roads that stretched over mountains, deserts, and jungles, as well as even rope bridges made from grass to cross rivers and canyons.
   The farming element of their advancements they had fabricated was due to the geography of their location- the mountains they lived on were unsuitable for farming, so they had erected large, flat terraces in which to plant their crops.
   Although compared to today's technologies and developments, they were an act of intellectual prime that helped the Inca rise above others.
