What We Learned About Poston War Relocation Center, Arizona

What We learned about the relocation camps is that they really struggled during those times because they had to sell their house, their clothes, all their belongings, and cars or they had to leave it there. After living in the camp for about three years, they had finally been freed with only $25 for each person. They weren't even able to get on their feet for a very long time. Until 1988, the federal government finally offered restitution for the people that had suffered through those times and went to the camps. They offered $20,00 to each survivor. After all they had been through, they had made it back to where they began.
