The Rwanda genocide of 1994 was a tragic and horrific event that occurred over the course of approximately 100 days in April to July 1994. The genocide was meticulously planned by extremist elements of Rwanda's majority Hutu population, who aimed to exterminate the minority Tutsi population and anyone who opposed their genocidal intentions.
