I have chosen this photo because it shows in part how plants are not just critical to humans. Plant life is just as critical to nature's animals survival. It is almost like the circle of life beginning with the plant. The plant is a living organism that animals feed off of for nourishment and growth much like humans. The difference is many animals are then consumed by humans as well as plants for sustenance. This picture exemplifies the importance of plants for animal and human race.

Padlet Assignment 2 Photosynthesis is a process that happens in green plants. The leaves of these plants thrive from the sun light. This light is converted to carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil. The process then converts to sugar also known as glucose. I chose this video because it was cute and interesting to learn on an elementary level. It made the process of photosynthesis a bit easier for me to understand.

I have chosen this picture because of its beauty. It represents the natural beauty of grasslands. This area is endangered due in part because of human interruption. We use the lands for urbanization, crop planting, forest plantations, energy and mining development. Animals use this area for intense grazing. Due to these factors the area suffers from habitat loss, declining biodiversity, desertification and fragmentation. Ultimately, this beauty will be destroyed.

The Neolithic Revolution was a life transforming period in history. This diagram represents costs and advantages of the transition. With great change always comes some form of adversity. In this case, it was being dependent on the success of the crops or suffer starvation. Disease was more prevalent because of the close quarters of humans and animals. The people couldn't simply leave as they once could if something was not working out as it should. The good out weighed the bad. They took a chance and changed the world forever!

Movement from Agrarian to Industrialized society represents the Third Agricultural Revolution. This movement reduced the need for a vast amount of farmers and began the development of food. I chose this picture because it symbolizes how technology has enhanced plants for economics and in the name of health. Foods are injected with certain things while growing and also cross bred with foreign genes to create a new "healthier" product. Personally I don't know how one can genetically mutate a plant and there be no consequence on the human body. This picture represents something being injected into the product and is a clear representation of how the Third Agricultural Revolution is changing what we eat healthy or not

One of the most influential chemicals used today is Poppy. Poppy is latex from Papaver somniferum used as to produce narcotics. Many medicines derive from poppy such as morphine and codeine. The positive is that these medicines have allowed for pain relief during and after surgery as well a chronic pain. The negative is they are addictive and many have lost their lives taking the drugs derived from this chemical. The abuse of this drug has become an epidemic overshadowing the positive that is does.

If present day agricultural, economic, social, and political practices go unchecked the state of the nation as we know it would no longer exist. People will die or continue to be sick from unbalanced diets and over eating. I envision crop failure and economic down fall along with greenhouse gases and climate issues as long as practices continue in an unchecked state.. People and animals would basically starve from lack of nutrition. Crime would increase because survival instinct would kick in for most. It would be a terrible day for all living things. There must be a balance for life to flourish economically, socially, politically and agriculturally. Every one must get on one accord with the future in mind from the government to everyday local people to ensure balance or the system will continue to weaken and life as we know it will no longer exist.
