Nelson Mandela gave speeches about the need for equal rights in South Africa and was thrown in jail for it. When got out 27 years later, he continued his work. Eventually, he got the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts and was elected for President. Equal rights were given to the citizens of South Africa because of his perseverance and belief. "In 1993 he won the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts. His hard work paid off further when all South African citizens were allowed to vote in the 1994 election. Incredibly, Mandela won and became president of South Africa!
