The Salem Witch Trials were a series of hearing and prosecutions. Many people were accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts between  February 1692 and May 1693. It all started when a group of young girls in Salem Village, Massachusetts , claimed to be possessed by the devil and also accused several local women of witchcraft. Many people were involved in the Salem Witch trials. Having only one Putman is already suspicious enough, but Ann's mother getting involved makes that suspicion greater. Rebecca (document M) is said to be "feared" or "resented" by Ann Putman. Not only because Rebecca was from Topsfield who wanted to take her family's land and her husband was fighting her father-in-law. This gave Ann many reasons to get revenge, and what a coincidence that she accused Rebecca of cursing her. Most of the accused are on the richer, more fertile side (Eastern) of Salem village. While the poorer, less fertile side (Western) held almost all the accusers. This seems very suspicious, and document J reveals that my assumptions may be correct. The Porters lived on the western side and the can be seen as enemies of the Putmans who live in the western side. Nothing was abnormal about the girl they were looking for something to blame her for. I don't think examining the witch is a reliable or even just way to figure out whether someone is a witch or not. Plus, it doesn't give information on who was examined or anyone in general.
