Today I created a little piece that I would like to have titled "Letting Go of Friendship". I used an energy ball to represent friendships or relationships with people that were unhealthy. You always want to take care of them keep helping them even when they aren't there for you but, sometimes you need to just do what is best for you and let them go. I think that I need to work on traveling more throughout my choreography instead of staying so stationary. Lastly, I think that I need to work on facing different ways throughout my choreography because I tend to choreograph it to always face the audience.

I think that today Gracen and I worked hard on putting our pieces of choreography into one piece. It was hard because I had a lot of fast movements and she had a lot of fluid movements but, we ended up finding ways to mesh the two together. I found a way to lift Gracen to embellish her movement and we used some of my movements and turned them into small weight exchanges and lifts. I think if anything that if we would have watched each other more and felt the energy more that we could have connected it more but overrall I think that we did well with the assignment!

Today I finally faced my fears of doing the straddle drop with no assistance. After much practice I am now able to complete this trick all on my own. I think now that I can do it, I just need to work more on the fluidity of getting into the drop and just going for it. I fell two times before I did this successfully and I am quite proud of myself for getting back up and trying it again until I got it.

Today we worked some more on silks. I feel a lot stronger and not as afraid as I used to be. I was able to create the picture after a lot of trial and error of wrapping. I had some assistance from my classmates to get into this stretch. I think that I need to work on my flexibility just as much as my strength because I realized today that you need to have just as much flexibility for silks as strength.

Today we worked a lot on silks and it was quite tough. I am finally able to do the endurance climbs because of my determination to not give up. I realized that silks are really just a physical test as well as a test to face your fears. You cannot be afraid and you have to trust the silk almost as much as you trust the floor. With proper wrapping and lost of effort I was able to successfully create this picture. I think that if I continue to practice this that it will only become more fluid with time!
