         <title>Posteriormente, en 1965, se consiguió conectar dos ordenadores: uno en Massachusetts y el otro en California mediante una línea telefónica, aunque no fue muy operativa. En este sentido, el gran salto tuvo lugar en 1969 de la mano de Michael Elie, quien sí consiguió conectar un ordenador de la Universidad de California con otro del Instituto de Investigación de Stanford. Poco después, se unieron cuatro universidades más y a esta interconexión se le llamó Arpanet. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>En 1961, Leonard Kleinrock publicó la teoría de conmutación de paquetes desde su puesto en el MIT. Se basaba en que toda la información que salía de un dispositivo se troceaba en bloques para facilitar su transmisión. A estos bloques los llamó paquetes. Al año siguiente, Paul Baran, presentó un sistema de comunicaciones que, mediante ordenadores conectados a una red descentralizada, resultaba inmune a los ataques externos. Así, si un nodo se destruía, el resto podían continuar sin problemas. </p>]]></description>

Por eso en 1999 las empresas 3Com, Airones, Intersil, Lucent Technologies, Nokia y Symbol Technologies se unieron para crear la Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance, o WECA, actualmente llamada Alianza Wi-Fi. El objetivo fue designar una marca que permitiese fomentar más fácilmente la tecnología inalámbrica y asegurar la compatibilidad de equipos.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>
