Based on my reading of the text, “Inventors and Scientists: Charles Darwin” I found it interesting that he estimated the earths age to be about 300,000 years. And now to be 4.56 billion years old. In the text it states, “He estimated the Earth’s age at about 300,000 years. The earth was much later, proven to be 4.56 billion years old. That’s more than enough for evolution to occur.

I found it very interesting that is father was actually trying to get him to go into medicine and religion but he was always more interested in becoming a naturalist. This shows dedication and a true wanting to understand the world and how it works. In the text it explains how even went on a 2 year trip to study the world and wildlife which proves he would do anything to presue and enjoy his dream from childhood. That is what i found very interesting in the text.

I found it interesting that Charles Darwin started his theory off of like 13 birds. It’s also crazy he got his theory by noticing the beaks are different on each bird, it’s cool that he got it from just a couple of little things. But it’s a little freaky, I can barely tell the difference between my socks and he can tell the difference between beaks on a bird that’s only like 3 inches tall. Other than him telling the difference between birds, he did a good job of thinking and reasearching his theory. I feel he went over the top which is great, when it comes to reasearch, you can never go to far. Also, he wanted to prove his theory right and he tried to guess the age of the earth to see how long it took for us to evolve from apes. I also like that Charles Darwin went against his father, and studied what he wanted.

What I found interesting was that Charles Darwin picked being a naturalist over medicine becuase that’s kind of dumb becuase I always saw being a doctor as a very important job because sometimes if the case is very serious you can save a patients life which sound really important so my question was why would Charles Darwin do that except for the point that he didn’t stand looking at surgery this is what I found interesting in the article inventors and scientists Charles Darwin
