Steve Irwin was born to Lyn and Bob Irwin on February 22, 1962. He moved with his parents to Beerwah, Queensland, where he fostered his love for animals after his parents opened up a wildlife park called the Beerwah Reptile and Fauna park. He learned how to handle gators from his father, and even received a python for his birthday once. Although he didn't have a scientific degree, growing up in this park gave him a vast knowledge of animals in Australia. Overall, Steve Irwin's childhood shaped who he became as an adult and as a television personality.
