This leather-bound journal, weathered by time, holds the written accounts of those who faced the overwhelming power of Dracula. With its aged pages and inked notes, the journal represents a personal struggle to retain control in a world threatened by foreign forces. In Dracula, the journal serves as a tool for resisting the encroachment of foreign blood, documenting the battle to maintain identity and mental clarity. Its presence underscores the Victorian anxiety over racial purity, as the journal's entries become a way to safeguard one's thoughts and experiences from the corrupting influence of the supernatural. In a time of intense fears of invasion and cultural dilution, the journal offers a method of resistance, holding onto one's sense of self in a world growing increasingly unfamiliar

Early in Jonathan Harker's journey to Transylvania, the crucifix stands for Christian faith as protection against the unholy powers of Dracula. Its presence underscores the Victorian tension between scientific rationality and lingering religious superstition, as characters initially dismiss it as folklore but come to rely on it in their fight against the Count. Symbolically, the crucifix embodies purity and divine authority, acting as a barrier against Dracula's corruption and a reminder of the moral framework that underpins Victorian society. The crucifix thus becomes a material weapon of resistance, protecting characters from Dracula's influence while reinforcing the era's anxieties about faith, modernity, and the preservation of societal order.

Symbolically, Lucy's letters represent the move from innocence to corruption as her deteriorating health foretells Dracula's predation and loss of purity in a manner that resonates with Victorian anxieties over female sexuality and the unknown. At the same time, the letters reflect the novel's epistolary structure, immersing readers in fragmented perspectives. Her letters foreshadow both personal and national collapse, encapsulating, in the late Victorian years, the tension between tradition and modernity.

The carriage Jonathan Harker travels in is important to Dracula as a metaphor for transition and foreboding. The carriage driver later revealed that Dracula himself controls the journey, emphasizing Dracula's omnipresence and manipulation. Historically, the carriage embodies Victorian fears about travel and the unknown. In the late 19th century, as railways developed, remote areas, such as Transylvania, became accessible to the British public; however, it was considered exotic and dangerous. In short, the dark, stormy landscape and the uncanny ability of the driver to navigate danger heighten the suspense, blending in Victorian fears of modernity disrupting tradition with the deeper existential dread of the supernatural.

The coffin in Dracula was used by Count Dracula to restore his energy with his need for Transylvania soil where he slumbered in the daytime.

“There was one great tomb more lordly than all the rest; huge it was, and nobly proportioned. On it was but one word, DRACULA”. The symbolic meaning of the coffin in Dracula was that it was something vampires used to rest and protect themselves from sunlight. In the 19th century, vampire lore reached its peak, where people considered vampires as dead people and dead people as we know are buried in coffins.

This stake, crafted from white oakwood, is a striking example of Victorian-era craftsmanship. Its smooth, polished surface belies the deadly purpose it serves: to expel the foreign influence of Count Dracula. The pointed end is sharpened to pierce the heart of the vampire, acting as a final defense against the supernatural threat. In the context of Dracula, the stake is a symbol of resistance against the corruption of "pure" blood, reflecting Victorian fears about foreign contamination and the erosion of British identity. The choice of white oakwood, strong and unyielding, further emphasizes the Victorian desire to preserve purity, guarding against any invasion that might threaten the sanctity of the nation's bloodlines.

Count Dracula's castle is a central symbol in Dracula, where isolation, decay, and supernatural elements come together. Perched atop a cliff in Transylvania, the castle is a physical and psychological prison for Jonathan Harker, underlining the power and control Dracula has over his victim. From a Victorian historical point of view, the castle depicts the contrast between the modern rationality of England and the antique mysticism of Eastern Europe. This reflects Victorian anxieties about the erosion of British cultural supremacy and the intrusion of the "foreign other." Ultimately, the castle symbolizes Dracula's supernatural power and Victorian concerns about the clash between tradition and progress.
