I first met David playing basketball against him when he was a Reagan Raider in 1992 then ended up working with him at RGC almost 20 years later. He still had his contagious smile and youthful enthusiasm which made him a great partner. He developed his love of the Sooners in high school after some of his teammates were snubbed by the Longhorns and received visits from Coach Stoops instead, he always told that story about why he couldn't stand UT. David developed his ability to handle all sorts of people while working Highland Mall security when it began to decline and also worked as a cook for Whataburger to support his family before becoming a Peace Officer. He was a great cop but, more importantly, he was a great person who will be missed. It will be difficult to go on without David but we must carry on with the watch, keeping his memory alive, respecting his work ethic, and his compassion towards others. May God hold you in the palm of His hand and watch over your family, until we meet again partner.
Tom

David Moore is one of the kindest human souls one could meet. Loved by all. We miss you David and we love you. We love your wonderful laugh, smile, and sense of humor. We love your respectful nature no matter what the circumstance. David helped pave the way. You could get behind him and he would cover you. He was a calm voice and mediator. He was a counselor passing down wisdom every time you met him about life, work, marriage, and anything you wanted to talk about. He was a comforting soul to many. I have had many long conversations about personal and professional matters with David. I worked with David on and off-duty. He was grounded. He stood his ground. His character was solid as a rock. He spread his joy and love and you could sense and feel it in every word. He genuinely cared. We could tell he was a warm soul and, in his word, so genuine you knew he loved you too. I was not surprised that he is so widely loved. Both men and women would swing by to see David just to say "Hello" from all over. It seemed like he knew everyone. I think he made such an impression on anyone he met you just had to go see him again if you could and were in the area. Students and employees would come see him all the time. David was a pleasure in this world and I am sure he will be a pleasure in the next world. He can never be replaced. The world will surely miss you David. Have mercy on his family and protect them. – With love, forgiveness, and mercy-we lost a good one - Always with love brother –Nate H.

As I sit here with a heavy heart and try to come to terms with the loss of not only a co-worker, but also one I called a friend, I can only gain hope in the joy you brought to our lives.

Officer Moore, you were a one of a kind man. You had a special way with people with an aura that filled a room. Whether you just met a person once or they knew you a lifetime, you were unforgettable.

You lit up a room just by your presence. Your laugh, smile and kindness were infectious. If someone was having a bad day, you made it better with the deep baritone voice, telling him or her “it will be alright”, just smile.

You were one of the most positive people I have known in my life. Officer Moore you loved your job as a Police Officer and set the bar for so many.

You served your community with pride and dedication. You exemplified the meaning of being a Police Officer. So many officers who will come to ACC will never get to know this officer behind the badge.

This will be a loss for them and the department. The things you could teach and show a person on just how to be kind to your fellow man, speaks volumes about your character and who you were as a person.

Personally, I will never forget our chitchats and laughing while at work. Off duty, you were the same man. Easy to talk too and always had words of wisdom and kindness to all.

The load of you not being here is going to affect each of us deeply.

To your family, my heartbreaks, knowing your wife will have to carry on without your love and support.
Your children, losing their father is unconceivable.

You showed all of us how a husband and father should and could be. We talked for hours about family and the joy they brought to your life. Every one of us at ACCDPD, who knew you, knows the love and pride you had for your family.

David, you were a man of God who loved life, family, friends and even the world with all the differences.

The Thin Blue Line today lost a wonderful human and I personally can say a Real True Brother in Blue.

We will miss your smiling face, your enchanting persona and most of all, not being able to make memories while on our earthly police duties.

Therefore, Officer David Moore #1332, Go Rest High on That Mountain. Sing the gospel songs now with the Angels with your beautiful voice.

Officer Moore, The Thin Blue Line will continue on, while we take the watch from here. You continue to patrol those Heavenly Streets of Gold until we meet again.

My final promise to you, I will not give your kids any more cavities and sugar rushes with all those “PEEPS”.

Love and Miss You my Brother in Blue ~ Officer Kathy Dalton #1311

You truly are going to be missed homie. As I was cleaning out your locker I remembered you called dispatch one evening and I picked up and you said “This is Lynn Dixon, who am I speaking with?” I was like ummm Hi Chief and you started laughing and asked how I was doing. When I was assigned to Round Rock campus you helped me get squared away and showed me the ropes. Never ever did I once see you mad or down you always had a smile on your face and you helped us keep the ounce of sanity we had left during these difficult times. You always talked about your kids and how much you loved them and what your plans were after retirement. I can’t wrap my head around never seeing you walk through the office door and saying “All Rise” or doing random impersonations of folks we work with. You were a gentle giant and when you came to assist on a call you always had a way with words and that helped a lot. I can’t begin to imagine the pain and grief your family is feeling right now, but one thing is for sure we will take care of them for you because they are our family too. Thank you for everything brother, we will continue to carry you in our hearts and you will never be forgotten .Officer David C.
