They also affected the Everglades by building canals that drained all of the swampy water, it changed large areas of wetland into the land that people used as farming , And then fertilizers came to the Everglades and put fertilizer stuff on the crops witch polluted the waters and made it unhealthy and it would change the natural flow of the originated water. And the Everglades now is only half as big today as it was 100 hundred years ago. As this started happening it was leaving less water and food for the plants and animals to be able to live.
