I once thought that I knew everything there is to know about my older sister. And when I say everything I mean, everything. Nobody could possibly know her more than I do, and yet I learned so much about her from this one conversation. My sister, Megan Noone, is always full of surprises.

Megan is a junior at Knox College and is studying to become an author. She loves reading, music, and, of course, writing. I decided to interview her for several reasons. One being that she is one of the easiest people to talk to. She is also very much a listener and knows what, and when to say something. Second, her career choice is something that I do not have much knowledge on. I have not met many people out there (really only her) that want to become full-time authors. Lastly, I have very few opportunities nowadays to see her or talk to her. It was the perfect opportunity to catch-up with her and hear more about her 3rd year of college.

I feel as if our conversation turned into more of an interview, which I tried to avoid. Although, it was hard not to since I was the only one asking questions. This is also my first time doing something like this. I have never done anything with audio or editing on my computer, but I think I did pretty well for my first attempt.

Our conversation dipped into several topics about finding inspiration, setting-goals, and what her definition of success is. Megan’s goals are not easy things to reach by any means. Yet she explained to me every step she is planning on taking in order to achieve her dreams. Not many people can do that and that is something that I admire about her. She is the perfect mix of a realist and a dreamer. Which is the perfect components for a world-famous author in my opinion.

After having this conversation with my sister I was inspired to write out my own goals and find happiness is simple things. No matter how much money I make or where I end up after college, I know that as long as I am doing what I love nothing else will matter. My sister made me think about what I want and what I need out of my life. People let what they want take control of what makes them actually happy.

This conversation helped me to build more upon my thinking of simple living, attaining happiness, and goal-setting. Making the things I love and enjoy a priority is something I want to focus on. My sister and I did not cover everything there is to know or think about life and college. I was still inspired to apply this clear thinking into other aspects of my life. It is very cool to listen to somebody talk about something they are passionate about. I could not have picked a better person for this project.
