His mother was surprised to see him and curious as to why he was at her apartment but is also very happy to see him. Christopher's mother says " Christopher, let's go inside and get you dried off." (192). Christopher was the opposite and didn't seem to care. When Christopher's mom tried to hug him he "pushed her away because she was grabbing me." (191). I don't think this is because he doesn't like her, more that he doesn't like being touched and she didn't know/remember that.

I side with Christopher's mom in the argument. Although she did not try to be involved in Christopher care, I can't stand his father. His father killed the dog and Christopher had every right to be upset. His father also lied that his mother "was dead." (195) This was unfair to Christopher and his mom.

Christopher's mom was very excited to see Christopher. She was so happy that she forgot he doesn't like to be touched and she started to "put her arms around [Christopher]" (191). This shows that she was so excited to see him since she forgot about everything else. Also, it was a little awkward because Mr. Shears was happy that his dad was not there with Christopher.

He's an impatient person that can't deal with kids. He's also very sensitive to the topic of Mrs. Shears and Christopher's father. I can tell because first of all, Christopher said around 5 sentences to his mother before Mr. Shears had to interrupt to ask "Are you going to come in or are you going to stay out all night?" (Page 192). And not to mention, he cursed right in front of Christopher without any hesitation, saying "Jumping Jack Christ" (page 192). In the end, Christopher's mother had to stop him from talking further. Lastly, he had a very big argument with Christopher's father that woke Christopher up, and that was because he was very sensitive about the topic or affair they're having.

Christopher's mother was very happy to see her son even though Christopher did not seem to have any type of reaction toward his mother. also, Christopher's mother knows him very well because after Christopher pushed her away from him, she remembered that Christopher does not like to be touched and she tried to help him stand back up "and mother put her arms around me and and said "Christopher" and I pushed her away because she was grabbing me and I didn't like it."

Since they have not been together for some time Christophers mom forgot some things about him. She "put her arms around" Christopher, and later realized that he "didn't like" being touched. I don't support the Mom but I also feel like Christopher should at least stay with his Mom for a little while until things get sorted out. Christopher's dad has a right to be angry that she wasn't there for him and had an affair with him, but he also shouldn't have handled things as he did. They had to get the policeman involved so they could tell the dad to "calm down" (198) and they "took him out of the flat" (198)

I side with Christopher's father during the argument. Even though his mother did send him letters every week, his father was right saying that the letters did nothing. Sure it proved that she still cared, but then again his father was the one who took care of Christopher all these years, and that's what a parent does. They care for them, cook their children's meals, clean their clothes, looking after them in general, which is what Christopher's father said he'd been doing and it is what he'd been doing all this time. Even though his father did lie to Christopher, he had his reasons which were reasonable and since his mom wasn't even there for him anymore, there wasn't exactly a point in saying that his mother was still alive when she won't even come back to see Christopher.

Christopher's parents are not exactly good and evil. I would consider both as bad parents since Mother has cheated on the other and Father has a short temper and was hiding the fact that Mother was alive. It is important to acknowledge how Christopher is autistic and most people around him have bad habits such as swearing and smoking.
