Personally, I believe it is due to my "efficiency" as a student, friend, and daughter. Many people around me compliment me on producing results or organizing tasks in an efficient and timely manner. Actually, I finished before the given deadline. It has always been my priority to get as much rest as possible, which is probably why I work so quickly. Quick but high-quality outcomes. As a friend, my peers praise me for being a good listener and giving sound advice. I simply have excellent time management skills and grew up in a healthy environment.

My ultimate ambition is to become a doctor. I'm not sure what specialty I'll be working in yet, but I'll figure it out soon. I want to be able to assist, inspire, and move people's hearts. A doctor who works for the greater good. To make it possible for me to make my healthcare available to everyone. Also, to make my parents proud. They went to such lengths and made such sacrifices for me. I hope to be able to give them everything they desire and deserve.

Which of the Digital Citizenship Elements is most important or relevant to you as Gen Z Teen?

DIGITAL RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- This is the most important element of being a digital citizen as a teen. We are all aware that we each have our own set of rights and responsibilities. The right to privacy, the right to use technology, the right to speak up, the right to post, and free expression. But we must also be responsible for our rights. It is not appropriate to act simply or carelessly because it is ours. In the same way, we act appropriately in the real world; we should behave appropriately in the digital world.

Today is the very first day of MovePH Webinar: Digital Media Technology and Society with the first session dubbed as “Digital media landscape: Power, potential, and harm”

Today we discussed the power, potential, and harm of digital media. The speakers discussed how frequently we use social media and asked us which common social media we always use, as well as our screen time. They also discussed the various types of "people" with whom we interact in digital media. We have bots, trolls, and what we call "marites" as examples. We must contribute to the good of society in the same way that we do in real life. Never acknowledge those who continue to spread fake news or argue without supporting evidence. That we must always check valid and reliable sources in order to inform others about what is true and good. One of the speakers told us that struck me is not to be "users" of social media because it demonstrates their agenda, but rather to be "citizens" of social media.

"As a student, what do you think are the usual instances and reasons you need information? What tasks have you done in the past that required searching information for you to complete them?"

As a student, it's not just instances; it's what I strive for on a daily basis. To continue intake information because it is required in communication and connection-making skills. I need information to be able to stay informed and be knowledgeable about various topics. Examples might include knowing the day's weather forecast, knowing how to complete our performance tasks, knowing current events, and other things. Some of the previous tasks I completed required information when we traveled to various locations. I want to learn about and familiarize myself with their food, history, culture, and landscapes. We must use information as a tool carefully.

Fighting Disinformation: The Importance of fact-checking and facts-based reporting in matters of public interest.

Today, in the second session, we discussed fact-checking. Many people simply consume and produce information without questioning its sources. The general public's decisions may or may not be influenced by various pieces of information. "We are entitled to our own opinions, but we do not have rights to the facts," one speaker said. For me, it simply meant that while you have the right to express your opinion, you cannot argue against it once facts support it. The speaker also told us that transparency is everything in his country. From public information to taxes and politics, the general public can access and know where everything goes. Unlike in our country, everything is kept private. Fact-based reporting on our taxes is hard to come by. The speaker stated that this should not be done because it creates a deep divide in information. When sharing and consuming information, fact-checking will always be required. Always double-check its validity and dependability.

Have you ever experienced correcting someone or being corrected by someone on fake news? How's your relationship now? Share your experience.

Yes, I have had to correct someone about fake news. During the election, there was a lot of misinformation/disinformation/mal-information. It was difficult to distinguish and keep up with it because new news was constantly covering or adding fuel to the fire. Let's say one of my friends preferred one party over the other. He would constantly share so-called "facts" obtained from the internet. After further investigation, it was discovered that everything was a hoax. His information was all created by users who wanted to promote the politician's image. When I corrected him on all of his "facts," he brushed them off and decided to believe what is favorable to him. A mind with tunnel vision. We are no longer on speaking terms because I dislike the way he is as a person.

How will you use this knowledge to influence the world for good?

In this age of deception, influence, and peer pressure, we as a society must remain rational. It is a privilege to be able to learn and gain new knowledge about advertising. As a student, I intend to use this knowledge to make a positive difference in the world. The best I can do right now is social marketing. Because I enjoy digital art, I specialize in creating posters. It is nothing new for me to create something that raises awareness among people. With my knowledge about current social issues, I am able to spread awareness to people that may benefit them. I can use various types of appeal depending on my goal, whether logical, emotional, or credible. Aside from that, with the help of using AIDA. To make people aware of situations (such as floods, wars, and revolutions), to incorporate them into their interests and desires, and to persuade them to take action for a change or for the betterment of our society.

How will you apply what you've learned about intellectual property rights to ensure that you are respecting the rights of creators while effectively communicating your own ideas?

Every day, we come across intellectual property rights. From the coffee, we drink in the morning to the vehicles we drive, to the places we go. Being knowledgeable entails being respectful. Knowing what intellectual property rights are allows you to correctly credit those who own it. If I happen to discover, create, or own something, I will thoroughly check to see if someone else has already done it before registering it with the government as mine in order to protect my rights. By doing so, I am effectively giving the owners proper credit while also applying what I know.

One of the realizations I've had is that I am free to make my own decisions. Either beneficial or detrimental to myself. That I, as a person, can think for myself using my conscious mind. I can manipulate people and choices to suit my own purposes. Whatever I decide will always have unintended consequences.

What have you learned from Media and Information Literacy? How has it changed your understanding of the role of media in society and how you consume and interpret information? What new skills or knowledge have you gained that you can apply in your personal and academic life?

- With Media Information Literacy, I have gained a great deal of wisdom and knowledge. Especially with the help of Ms. Jonna, our teacher. Not only was she a great teacher, but she applied her knowledge and teaching to us in a variety of ways, always giving us the right to understand and think. It changed my perspective on how I process information, to always double-check sources, to find what is reliable and credible, and not to be careless and ignorant. With MIL as our subject, I've learned to be more skeptical of any information I consume as a person. It has opened many doors for me to explore, particularly because it teaches us how to express ourselves. It taught me how to write, journal, capture, listen, edit, be opinionated, voice out, and all the other skills that have shaped me into the person I am today and that I can use to benefit myself and others.
