Edith Cavell was born in a small town named Swardeston in Norwich. She had 4 brothers and sisters of which she was the oldest. Her childhood was idyllic and muted because of the countryside atmosphere in which she grew up around. This inspired her love of art and she often painted her surroundings, this allowed her to spend some time away from her family and relax. Her father was a priest and from this sparked a passion for religion.

This is what made her unique her religion taught her to never discriminate. At the time she was highly criticized by the british, germans, french, russians and italians for helping men of all nationalities, he was widely hated. Edith soon began to work with others to smuggle the Allied soldiers under her care, out of the hospital and across the border to neutral Holland. It is believed that she saved the lives of over 200 men thanks to her bravery.

At the time of her death, millions of soldiers and civilians owed their lives to the dedication, self-sacrifice and hard work of nurses. In 1917, The Daily Telegraph and The Mirror newspapers launched a national appeal for funds in her memory, raising £12,500. The fund was intended to be used for nurses "shattered mentally and physically, who have sought the health of others at the expense of their own."

The fund came to be known as the Nation's Fund for Nurses, which later became Cavell Nurses. Thanks to this charity nurses get to dominate others for an award, they get support when they are caring for others whilst going through a crisis of their own. They do bake sales, and international day for nurses were nurses come together and celebrate.

I know that the telegraph target audience would enjoy this article as 70% of their readers have a degree meaning they would be interested in someone like Edith. Here are the demographics for The Telegraph:
I think that this article would reach a wider audience online rather than if it was published in the newspaper as many people in my target audience prefer to read it online over a paper copy now.
