  • Features

    The temple complex includes a two-story pagoda with a gilt roof, as well as over 500 other temples, shrines, and cremation sites. The temple's sanctum houses a three-foot high Shivalinga with four faces, each with a different name and significance. 

  • Significance

    The temple is a major pilgrimage site for Hindus and is mentioned in many ancient Hindu texts. It's also a UNESCO World Heritage site. 

  • Festivals

    The temple is especially busy during the Maha Shivaratri festival, which is celebrated in February or early March. Other festivals celebrated at the temple include Teej, Ekadasi, Sankranti, Rakshabandhan, and Poornima.
