Because of this, the Philippine government wanted to keep that money coming so they continued to export workers to different countries throughout the world (most often the United States). The US saw this as good colonialism to help public health and education. Filipinos had to learn western medicine practiced and english. more and more filipino nurses would graduate from nursing school in the US as schools were preparing them to work here till 1946. During the war, there were many benefits for working as nurses. But after war there were not that many benefits.
