I learned that making financial decisions is very important. Making a budget to plan out all of your expenditures and other things is a good way to organize information and help with real-life situations. I learned about credit cards, which is used to pay at the end of the month, while debit cards pay the money right away. In lesson one and lesson three on Applied Digital Skills, I learned how to use a spreadsheet and organize information in a way that it is easy to see what your expenditures and other things are. Overall, this unit helped me understand the importance of plans and budgets that are made for monthly expenditures and the importance of financial decisions.

I learned multiple things from the financial literacy unit the first one being how to get the best deal for your money, during lesson 1 we were able to research and access different types of phones then pick out the best one using google sheets. The second thing I learned was how to sort out our finances, during lesson 3 we were given a bank account and had to sort out the money we made and see which category was the most consuming, the third thing I learned was how to budget responsibly, in an activity we did in class, I was given a job and a net income and had to figure what were the best deals for me, (I was an electrician). I also learned about debit and credit cards and which one had the most perks and benefits and would therefore be the most useful to me. The final thing I learned was about gross and net incomes, taxes come along with jobs, so even if my job says I will make $3,500 a month I may really only be making $2,800. This is because my gross income is $3,500, but once the taxes are removed I have my net income of $2,800.

In the financial literacy unit I was able to learn lots of things that will be relivent later in life. One thing I learned from the financial literacy unit was how to make a spreadsheet. Even though it mightseem simple at the begining of the financial literacy unit I had no idea how to use a spread sheet but today I am formiliar with the google sheets software. I can also use sum and sum if ecuations to calculate net income umong other things. For a long time I haven't understood why there are so many diffrent cars but the financial literacy unit taught me that having multiple cards are a good thing because credit and debit cards both have unique pros and cons. I also learned in the simulation how to manage a budget. Lastly I learned the difference between net and gross income. Overall the financial literacy unit helped me understand things that I have always wondered about.
