Earth is larger, has liquid water and a denser atmosphere, supporting life as we know it. Mars is smaller, colder, and has a very thin atmosphere, making it less habitable.          <description><![CDATA[<p><br></p><p>The difference to earth and mars:&nbsp;</p><p>Earth is our home while Mars has a nickname red planet and mars is the fourth planet away from the sun and earth is the third planet away from the sun but earth is bigger then mars a.k.a the red planet.</p><p><br></p><p>Why did they call mars the red planet:</p><p>You may ask why did they call Mars the red planet as its nickname is red planet due to the presence of iron oxide rust on its surface and that's why.</p><p><br></p><p>Does earth have a nickname:</p><p>Yes, Earth has several nicknames.          <description><![CDATA[<p>similarity between Earth and Mars:</p><p><br></p><p>Earth’s axis is about 23.4 degrees and mars one is about 25.2 degrees and both are similar. One Earth day is 24 hours. Well approximately 24 hours. On Mars its one Earth day and 37 minutes, which is about 37 minutes longer than Earth. Did you know that Earthy is in the “goldylock zone” or the habitable zone which is not too hot or not too cold. Mars is somewhat in the habitable zone; it is on the edge of it and Earth is in the middle of it.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Difference Between Earth and mars:</p><p><br></p><p>Mars is smaller than Earth Mars is about 6,787 Km which is about half of Earth's size. Every one knows that Earth has life but Mars doesn’t have life… yet. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Earth and Mars, two planets both exchanging similarities and differences between each other. They are neighbouring planets, only separated by 140 million miles. While some believe Mars can harbour life too, there is no definitive answer yet. It would be pretty jaw-dropping if it did. Maybe it could be a back up planet.  Who knows? </p><p><br/></p><p><mark>Similarities:</mark></p><ul><li><p>Both planets are terrestrial, meaning that they have rocky surfaces.</p></li><li><p>They both possess a water characteristic, but Mars' water is in the state of ice.
