         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>1.6.17 </strong> <br>Met with Dr. Williams to discuss goals for sessions.  Received a briefing about her desired focus for working with Mr. Lamonica, 5th grade science teacher.  Also met with Aime Webber, Tech Ed teacher, to discuss support approach with Mr. Lamonica.  I worked with Ms. Webber last year as she was the previous 5th grade teacher.<br><br>Observed Mr. Lamonica review the scientific method with students in order for them to complete STEM fair projects.  While he taught lesson, I logged into his DE account and began saving resources to his content.  Identified resources for him to use with scientific method and also with his next lesson on matter.  <br><br>Met with Mr. Lamonica to introduce him to Science Techbook.  Looked into his next concept "Matter" and went over the resources and model lesson.  Shared the resources in the  professional learning tab for further self discovery.<br><br>*Also met with 4th grade ELA teacher who had been using board builder with students.  Showed her how to "un-share" boards once she reviewed them for students to continue editing.  <br><br><strong>1.11.17<br></strong>Briefly observed 4th grade teacher, Ms. Perez teach her math class while I searched for some resources for her science instruction.  <br><br>Observed Mr. Lamonica open his lesson on matter with a DE video.  He also used a DE worksheet to help students observe and identify characteristics of matter.  Students were in groups of 4.  Each group was given a nerf kickball to observe and record characteristics.  Spoke with him briefly about what he saw as the benefits to using DE to introduce the content.  "Students were learning by doing"...."I didn't have to talk that much"...."they were interested and engaged"<br><br><strong>1.31.17</strong><br>Started the day with a brief meeting with Principal Williams.  She wanted me to spend some time with her other 5th grade teacher today as well.  Observed Mr. Lamonica's class as they began their STEM project:<strong> Analyzing Water, Water Everywhere!  </strong>Students began working in groups to plan for design of a cooler to keep ice cream cold in the car.<strong><br></strong> <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>12.7.17</strong><br>Was invited to present a 30 min Getting Started with STB overview to approximately 30 staff members during PD day.  Covered basic navigation, model lesson and SOS.  Teachers were asked to complete a Google doc before my next visit to indicate topics to be covered during next visit.<br><br><strong>12.20.17</strong><br>Met with the STEM teacher (Hutch) and the 4th grade science teacher. Reviewed navigation and board builder. Worked with Ms. Hutch on plan to continue to build on site capacity with her teachers.  No teachers signed up for support during my visit but I  worked through an upcoming model lesson with Dr. Alcantara, 3rd grade teacher.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>12.12.16<br></strong>Met with 8th grade teachers during their collaborative planning time (1 hour).  Reviewed/introduced the basic navigation of STB. <strong> </strong>Also went over the use of the model lesson and introduced them to SOS strategies.  <br><br><strong>1.10.17</strong><br>Met with 8th grade teachers during their collaborative planning time (1 hour).  Walked them through the model lesson for their next concept (Force and Motion).  Spent the session supporting them as they began planning for implementation of STB to teach next concept.  Students were recently given iPads so our focus was on identifying which elements of the STB they would use via whole group, small group and individual instruction.  Spoke of the possibility of me co-teaching/observing STB lessons during my last visit. <br><br><strong>2.8.17</strong><br><br>Met with 8th grade teachers during their collaborative planning time (1 hour). Focused mainly on Board Builder.  Showed teachers how to search for teacher created boards and how to edit them.  Also gave a demonstration of creating boards from scratch.  Introduced the rest of the Builder tools to the team.  Spent some time using Assessment Manager.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>12.21.16</strong><br>The STEM specialist, Ms. Spires, and I met individually with the 4th, 5th and 6th grade science teachers. Worked through the model lesson of their upcoming units. Focused on delivery and instructional strategies. Next session we will attempt to co-teach.<br><br><strong>1.12.17</strong><br>Co-facilitated a project (Building a Bridge) from DE with the 5th grade teacher, Ms. Smith.&nbsp; Students have been working on this project for the past two days and are now at the stage of deciding which design ideas should be used in building their prototype.&nbsp; Students were working in groups comparing individual design ideas to make a group decision.&nbsp; <br><br><strong>2.15.17</strong><br>Observed Ms. Smith's class lesson on States of Matter. Students watched a DE video and took notes. They were then directed to google classroom where they retrieved their assignment for the day. They explored the Fundamentals, Properties of Matter: Solids and What's The Matter. The teacher transferred the questions from the student guide to a Google form that the students completed.&nbsp; Finally, the teacher used Plickers to gather data as an exit ticket.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>12.14.16</strong><br>Met with three, 4th-6th grade science teachers in first session. They had a pretty good grasp of basic navigation so we spent time with the model lesson and board builder. Also shared SOS strategies and Prof Learning tab. Next I met with a 3rd teacher. She was the ELA teacher who was tasked to work with the science teacher when he got back in the building. Went over basic getting started info and shared prof learning tab for further review.<br><br><strong>12.15.16<br></strong>Met with 3 groups of teachers in 90 minute collaborative planning meetings. Covered getting started navigation and some lesson planning.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>1.17.17<br></strong>Met with the Principal, Mr. Kelly, to discuss goals for the program.&nbsp; Discussed working with the 5th grade teacher, Mr. Quezada, to help him incorporate STB into his class.&nbsp; Met with Mr. Quezada during his planning time to go over navigation of STB.&nbsp; We had a productive session where he explored the basic navigation and the model lesson.&nbsp; Mr. Quezada is finishing up with the STEM fair with his students but we looked into the next lesson on living things in their environment.&nbsp; I saved some additional resources in his My Content folder to be useful for his upcoming lessons.<br><br><strong>1.23.17</strong><br>Observed Mr. Quezada's class as they presented boards for the STEM fair.&nbsp; As they presented, I continued to look for resources for Mr. Quezada. &nbsp; Need to make sure that for the 3rd visit we have some scheduled time to debrief.&nbsp; <br><br><strong>1.31.17<br></strong>Met with Mr. Quezada during his planning time.&nbsp; We talked about his plan to get students onto the Engage page this week.  Students will be working in pairs to do an introductory investigation on the  classification of living organisms.  Showed him how he can use the dashboard to monitor progress while facilitating the investigation.  He also talked about conducting a STB training for other teachers in the building during one of their Friday PDs.  I showed him the interactive module on the professional learning tab and told him he could complete that to prepare for the training.  Depending on time and format he could use the module to let teachers self direct their discovery in the PD.  Finally, I met with the principal to mention the possibility of Mr. Q working with the other teachers.   </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>1.24.17</strong><br>Arrived at the school and waited in the office as POC was unavailable. Was told they were doing testing and didn't have coverage. After 1 hour in the office, I was told that they couldn't accommodate the support today.  I left the building then received a call 20 mins later.  I returned to talk to the POC so that we could prepare for the following day.<br><br><strong>1.26.17</strong><br>Met with 8th grade for 90 mins to cover basic navigation and lesson planning.  Planned to introduce STB to students tomorrow with instructional support from me.  Met with 7th grade for 45 mins covering basic navigation and lesson planning using model lesson.  Finally met with 6th grade for 45 mins.  Showed basic navigation and discussed overcoming challenges of limited devices. <br><br><strong>1.27.17</strong><br>Co-teaching with 8th grade today.  Was with Mrs. NDI periods 3 &amp; 4.  Students logged into Clever to connect to DE.  Students were then directed to an assignment that they were instructed to complete.  Next I co-taught with Mrs. Carter the same lesson on straight line motion in periods 5 &amp; 6.  After the first period I modified the lesson a bit by assigning the students the Engage page and creating a writing prompt as part of the evaluation.   Was able to show Mrs Carter the dashboard in action as they worked on the Engage page.  Finally, I completed a debrief with both teachers to give some "Glows and Grows".</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>1.19.17</strong><br><br>Met with 3rd 4th and 5th grade teachers in two. 90 minute sessions to review basic navigation of STB and begin lesson planning.&nbsp; Teachers were tasked to use STB in their classrooms to prepare for next training.&nbsp; <br><br><br><strong>2.2.17</strong><br><br>Met with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers in two, 90 minutes for lesson planning.&nbsp; Building off the model lesson, walked teachers through the process of calculating instructional time for the next unit and comparing that with the allotted times in the model lesson.&nbsp; Assisted teachers with assigning assets and assignments to students.&nbsp; Also met with the 5th grade ELA teachers to showcase effective use of STB and DE with ELA standards.&nbsp; Highlighted the digital notebook, searchable text assets (passages, E-books), and SOS strategies.&nbsp; <br><br><strong>3.31.17<br><br></strong>Demonstrated board builder in 4 different classrooms.&nbsp; Students began the process of building boards based on their current science content.&nbsp; Worked with two 3rd grade classes, a 4th and a 5th.&nbsp; Additional teachers were able to observe the sessions through substitute coverage<strong>.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>2.6.17<br><br></strong>Opened the day with an observation in one of the 7th grade classrooms.&nbsp; Following that, we spent about 20 minutes during collaborative planning time answering questions around STB.&nbsp; Teachers have shown some limited use since last year but still have not implemented at the level they would like.&nbsp; After the meeting, I observed the 3 other 7th grade classrooms.&nbsp; Worked specifically with Ms. Henry to help her plan to implement STB fully after SOL testing.&nbsp; <br><br><strong>2.16.17</strong><br><br>Students were taking SOL tests all day and teachers didn't have common planning time so I sat in a classroom and gathered resources to save in the My Content folders of Ms. Sigba and Ms. Henry.&nbsp; Trying to get a 4th day added for this school.<br><br><strong>3.28.17</strong><br><br>Worked with the 7th grade classes today. Taught a lesson on the Excretory System using STB in two of Ms. Henry's classes. This was the students' first time completing CIT pages so I walked them through the basic navigation while introducing the content. Teacher wanted them to experience the My Notebook feature so I showed them how to highlight and annotate parts of the text.&nbsp; Next I observed Mr. Dormer and gave a few suggestions.&nbsp; Met with Mrs. Vallangca to show her basic navigation of STB pages.&nbsp; She was using the resource mainly to search for assets.&nbsp; Also introduced her to the assessment manager as she was making her own tests to go with videos she was showing.&nbsp; Showed Ms. Shukla how to download videos from DE as she was having bandwith issues in the afternoon.&nbsp; Finally, I walked Ms. Willis-Hall through a model lesson and showed her how she could use it in a whole group setting on her IWB. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>
