Look at me-I am no longer a digital dinosaur! Here is what I have done so far with my social bookmarking (mostly math related--Dan Meyer is AWESOME!) I must say that bookmarking is very addictive.

Trish I clicked on source and it asked me to login? I am not the best person to test because this is all new to me...Can someone try Trish's site? I tried the photo-and failed miserably-there is some weird blue outline of a box on this Padlet---I think it took a picture-but maybe I cannot see it--Can you? Oh that would be funny

First off I really like the fact that you used the Delicious
website, I was going to use that at first but could not figure out how to make
my sight public! I really enjoyed reading your diverse articles, I also used
various topics. You picked a lot of great websites that dealt with online
bullying and helpful links that teachers could use for online learning. I
really like the article about the 4^th grade teacher Adina Sullivan.
I think it is wonderful that she is using technology to teach ESL students. I can
only imagine how much better the learning experience must be for those students!!

I liked that you bookmarked the ISTE site! That's definitely a good site to have nearby to refer to. I also liked the PBS site you bookmarked. It is a very simple site to use and has a lot of great resources to use.

I really enjoyed your bookmarking site! I loved the multitude of free ebook sites. I also really liked the Storybird Studio site that you found. If I was in your class and I got to work on a project using that, I think I would be very engaged. It almost looks like you're making your own childrens storybook.

I have never seen symbaloo. I like it. The sites you've bookmarked are all very interesting. I have actually used quizlet, and prezi. The one I am absolutely going to steal from you is Chalk up. I am so excited to try it for September that I tried to sign up but unfortunately my school is not listed and will have to wait for a response from them about adding my school. Thanks for sharing!

I opted to try Delicious. It seems a bit bare-bones but is pretty easy to use, especially with the Chrome extension -- just click the Delicious icon while viewing any web page. My links are here: https://delicious.com/dmoto

Looks like you've been busy!! I agree -- I definitely see the addiction potential! I stole your ISTE link for my own b-site -- seems like a good resource to keep in mind. Looking at all these different bookmarking sites makes me wonder whether there is some "meta-bookmarking" tool out there that would work across the different platforms.... Hmm.... -Dave

One thing I dislike about all these "free" tools is all the cheesy advertising you have to sift through. I wonder if there is any talk in the ed industry about concerns over exposing kids to so much advertising. Dave

Hi Cathy! I use Kahoot in class as a review game - the kids love it! I added it to my bookmarks. Quizlet is also a great site for virtual notecards/ gaming review.

Tried the Webcam but just a picture of me with my youngest and even that took like 20 takes. :-)

I'm in love with your link to 4Teachers, Anna. I've been watching videos related to it, and I'm blown away by the concept of having students design their own 3-d educations space in the form of virtual museum walks and research projects, particularly for Social Studies! It reminds me a great deal of a link I provided on my own delicious site called 'minecraftedu', which uses a popular videogame platform to not only promote the uptake of educational information for students, but also exposes them to a 'virtual sandbox' they they get to manipulate and shape themselves. Awesome stuff!

I really like the look of Symbaloo and it seems user-friendly for the younger students. It is visually appealing and includes a picture for non-readers. I have been not able to figure out how to add tags or comments to different links. Does anyone know if this is possible with this site?

I know that there are 'versions' of several of these tools; notably Quizlet for example, that give you an option to pay the advertisements away. Buy a subscription, and voila, no more ads. Honestly, I'd totally pay to avoid that sort of constant exposure we typically see.

Hey Dave! I like how you mentioned that with the Chrome extension you can add a link directly to your Delicious page. With Symbaloo I was not able to do that and found it to be a pain to add each website more formally. It is much easier to just add it site while you are on it! Bonus for Delicious!

I also liked you link about 31 Digital Tools Every Teacher should know. It shares a to the point description of each tool, the picture, and link. I found myself wanting to try several? Have you every tried ThinkLink? "ThingLink is a web tool that lets you create interactive images. These interactive images can contain links, videos, presentations and many more." It sounds like an interesting tool for both teachers and students work with. I wonder how user friendly it is!

Below is an example from ThinkLink. Each icon has a link to video, websites, student created presentations, audio, etc.

Hi Jaimie! I really liked the websites you choose and how you incorporated your blog into your bookmarks. I initially tried to use google bookmarks, but for some reason I had trouble making it public so I used Delicious instead. One of the resources you provided that I especially liked was the 10 Podcasting Projects Teachers Should Try in the Classroom. I have never created a podcast, but the site gives great ways to incorporate them into student learning and I cannot wait to one day use them in my own classroom. I also thought the 50 websites for schools was a great resource. I loved how they also provided information on the strengths of each site and what you can use it for. It is truly amazing the information that is available on this topic. Great work!

Karen I wasn't able to see your bookmarks. I think it needs to include your name in the link somehow. Otherwise it just took me to my own Google bookmark site.
