I have been studying various aspects of the body image sterotypes that media expects girls to have. sterotypes in television are very common, eberyone has heard of the 'dumb blonde' the 'goth girl' or the 'makeup covered beauty'. These labels are used everyday iin media and transferring to our everyday life. The media transfers these ideas to girls minds, making them wanting to change themselves(diet/wear a lot of makeup) it makes them feel like they have to be popular or cool to fit in, instead of just being themselves. It outs the self steem of many young girls down, making them feel like they aren't good enpugh or like the celebrities in the media. we don't understand that these shows are edited to make the characters look 'perfect' and the pictures we see in magazines are usally photoshopped

I have been reasearching/studing facts abd statistics about how media influences how body image. I have found out that many teens/adults are not happy with their body and a lot of this comes from the influence of media/tv shows/movies/magazines. I have also been researching what can happen if you don't like your body image. if you don't like your body image this can lead to depression, eating disorders ect. Another thing I researched is the celebrities influence on body image. a lot of teenagers look up to stars like: Ariana Grande, Jenifer Lawrence ect. a lot of celebrities have perfect bodies and pretty faces and woman begin to become self-conscious about there body and start to get low self esteem.
