I agree that the Friar proved to be a figure of deceit and perversion. This is ironic due to the fact that he is supposed to exemplify good christian morals and values. As a friar he is expected to beg on the poor’s behalf, live amongst them in poverty, and forgive people in the name of God for their confessions. Instead he concerns himself with acquiring more money for himself and blackmailing others. His behavior is certainly not in accord with the selfless moral teachings he is supposed to espouse. This goes to show that not every character truly is how he or she presents his or herself as.

It's my worth,
To me,

I do not disagree,
I deserve this,
