Hamlet is a play written on an unconfirmed date between 1600 and 1602. It is one of Shakespeare's most famous plays, being the source of the famous quote: "To be or not to be, that is the question" (Hamlet, Act III, Scene I).
The play is due to the revenge of Prince Hamlet, whose father, the late King Hamlet dies suddenly, while the Prince was away from home. Hamlet was in Wittenberg, outside of Denmark, while the father was supposedly stung by a venomous snake. King Hamlet, a conqueror over Polish armies, is succeeded on the throne by his brother Claudius, for he marries Gertrude, the widowess mother of Hamlet.
Cast: Kenneth Branagh (Hamlet and Director)
Richard Attenborough (English Embassador)
Brian Blessed (Ghost)
Richard Briers (Polonius)
Jack Lemmon (Marcellus)
Timothy Spall (Rosencrantz)
Julie Christie (Gertrude)
Derek Jacobi (Claudios)
