As the sun shines towards the East,

The Philippines show of their feast,

Different dances and songs converge,

Make this colorful culture “diverse”

Honking jeepneys to chirpping birds,

Our tradition says beloved words,

With our prideful hearts shown to all,

Made our memories to stand tall,

We share our laughter and food together,

Just how God or Allah showed his love forever,

Our loyalty to our beloved nation,

Together we stand for fair equation,

People, places, events mingle,

Where happiness and excitement tingle,

Rivers, oceans, and waterfalls flow,

The Philippines is the place i know,

One hot day, there was a girl named Liezel who lived in a village along with her friends, they were

Marcio, John, Angelica, and Maria. The following day, Maria told her friends about the Pahiyas Festival,

“Guys, guys! The Pahiyas Festival is coming!” she exclaimed, she always liked to learn about festivals.

John the curious boy asked “What’s the Pahiyas Festival about?” Angelica replied with a bland tone “It’s

about the farmers offering their crops to the church as appreciation.” she explained. Marcio, with an

impatient tone, said “We don’t have the materials at all!” Liezel replied “Then we’ll get materials, I know

exactly where!”

They followed Liezel to where rice stalks grew, Liezel said “Here are the rice stalks, quick, we need

many!” in panic, John almost fell into a pond, but luckily, Marcio was able to catch him in time. Next

they went to find fruits for the festival, “Up there guys!” Maria exclaimed, so they decided that Marcio

would climb the tree Maria pointed at. “We have everything we need, let’s go back to the village!” Liezel

said.

Then finally, the five friends returned to the village, giving the materials to the citizens. The next day

came and what they saw blew their minds, there were people dancing on the street wearing traditional

clothing and carrying a basket of mangoes, and houses decorated with different fruits and vegetables!

“We did it guys!” Maria said, “Next time, let’s prepare ahead to avoid cramming.” Angelica yawned out.
