We explored the various different flora and fauna found in the tropical rainforest biome. We evaluated human interactions in tropical rainforests and the implications of these unchecked human interactions were discussed.

Welcome to the Grade 9 I&S Virtual Conference on Biomes.

In term 3, students were separated into groups and given a specific biome to study. Their project included a research paper and then a final product, such as a website or video.

The main directives of this project were to find where this biome is found in Africa, how human interaction is impacting this biome, and then present a call to action so viewers can take steps to help improve the state of the biome.

The work took many hours and a lot of research but in the end, the students did quite well. Feel free to check out the different links in this virtual conference, learn more about the biome that might be in your backyard (or featured in your last safari photos), and become involved in preserving these precious resources.

Enjoy!

Ms. Angelic
Grade 9 I&S Teacher
