- These quotes must be precise and accurate. - utilize unique introductions and correct parenthetical citations. - This assignment will be worked out throughout multiple weeks; the due date will move along with Check Points. -Refer to the Schoology directions for each Check Point's requirements.

He is also noticed to be very composed, "changed neither his place nor his attitude, even in this excitement" (Dickens 77). As well as his laziness: "I’d hold half a guinea that he don’t get no law work to do. Don’t look like the sort of one to get any, do he?" (Dickens 77).

The character development so far for Sydney Carton is written in the sense that Carton is shy and can have his own moments of courage and breakthroughs. He is a person that does not want to work very hard, but he is gifted, and essentially a burnt-out teenager. Carton is also a drunk pessimist who is very reliant on his feelings towards another person or something else to keep him grounded and from falling apart or just decompensating and Darnay does not have these problems at all and is more level-headed.

Carton is a blunt and bold person who can be more introverted than he should be but when he wants to he can be quite straightforward and more respectful about his bluntness. His bluntness and impatience are what seemed to drive him to go straight to Lucie and ask her to marry him.

The difference of perspective and priorities is what sets the two characters apart from each other. Darnay tries to be in the moment and love his family uncondtitionaly while Carton is very dedicated to Lucie and her family and sacrifices a lot for the sake of their happiness.

Darnay is almost a polar opposite to Mr. Carton, as he is for the most part very composed, respectful, and calm/collected. Charles is a formal person who went to Lucie's father to ask for her hand in marriage.

Charles Darnay is a proper young man who was raised to be fairly respectful and sophisticated while having a heart that could make connects and a mind to make smart decisions quickly. He is written to have seemingly strong decision making skills and to be committed to the goals he sets for himself. He is a very motivated person, setting him apart from Sydney Carton who is lazy and unmotivated.
