YouTube is an American based video sharing website that turned the film and video industry upside down. The creation of this website combined with the increasing affordability of high quality film making tools such as DSLR cameras and microphone, has taken an art-form, once out of reach, and placed it in the hands of consumers. Even as a kid this equipment was within a price range that was manageable for me to save up to. I remember the first video I took on a camera I saved up for and uploading it straight to YouTube for the world to see.

I play, compose, and listen to music every day. Music is a way to express and share emotions and ideas with others which makes it very important in my life. One major technological advancement in audio production that has occurred in my lifetime is the invention of bluetooth. I can remember the first time I used a bluetooth speaker. It was like magic. I have absolutely no clue how it works, but it is a total game changer. Just because I don't know how it exactly works, doesnt mean I don't manipulate it to my specific needs. I have used bluetooth modules to build my own transmitter to use in the stereo in my room.

Never before have we been able to have the kind of instant knowledge offered by these devices. I got my first iPhone when I turned 14 and it changed the way I lived my life. Smartphones not only offer information but music, games, calendars, clocks, notes, and so much more. I now have an alarm clock that can wake me up to almost any song that's ever been recorded thanks to apps like Apple Music and Spotify.
