When talking to someone you want to impress, or trying to get someone's attention it is important for you to be aware of accents. Making sure that you use gestures along with raising and lowering your tone of voice will be important in getting your points across and catching the attention of someone important

Another great way to start to form relationships and improve first impressions is by making sure that you verbally and non verbally complement what ever you like. For example when you hear that you would be starting out at 12.00$ an hour you can nod your head in a agreement and in order to complement what they said. You can also make sure to say respond with phrases with "That sounds good", or "Ok sounds great"

When in a job interview there might be times where you need to contradict what the interviewer is saying. This is almost the opposite of complement, when you hear things that you don't like it is imperative for you to shake your head in disagreement, or some times even say phrases like. "I don't agree with that", or "Can we possibly work on that"

During a job interview and during many important events in life, it is important to seem like you are in control. This not only shows that you can handle certain situations, but it also shows that you are confident in your abilities to handle said situations. For example during a job interview in order to show control, when ever you feel the need to speak leaning forward shows that you want to speak. And it is also important to verbally keep control by making sure to keep the conversation in a flow and pace that you feel comfortable with.

Repeating sentences and questions is another important thing to do in a job interview. Doing these things can show that you are an active listener and that you cherish what the interviewer has to say. In order to do this non verbally you can do things like raise your eye brows or make certain facial expressions.

When in an interview, you may not always have control over the conversation. Substitution can help with this, substitution like the name suggests inter changes verbal communication with gestures and emblems. For example if there is a time where you can't get any words out you can give the thumbs up in order to give confirmation that you understand, or agree with the information being said.
