Some specific examples include:
-"took him by the hand and led him to the waves." This helps the reader imagine her father being lead to surfing by "destiny."
-"deserted beach, frosted white, to surf the icy gray Atlantic conditions" She uses this imagery to provide vivid descriptions to let the reader visualize what the beach looked like in reality.
