         <title>Conquer Land</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The conquistadors and all of the other explorers wanted to bring wealth and the Natives had the gold but they wanted it so they killed them and took the land with the gold. Many Natives were enslaved and tortured for their valuables and so that they would turn to Christian, They forced the Natives to be Christian and if not then they would be killed. Conflict started and then a war happened between the Natives and the explorers which the Natives lost and their land was taken.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Were the English and French any different from the Spanish when they reached the New World? No, they both killed and took stuff. They were a bit nicer by trading and spreading culture but both forced people to turn to Christianity. The text says that Queen Elizabeth ordered for the explorers to kill and take and enjoy conquering. French Explorer Jacques Cartier planting a cross in front of Native Americans  and forced them to turn to Christianity just like the Spanish. <br>French colonists and Native American trading furs in Canada. This shows that they were a bit different from the Spanish because they wanted to learn the other cultures and interact with the Natives peacefully.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Both, because atrocities were committed while new lands were being discovered. For example, Cortes explored Mexico but at the same time destroyed and reshaped Tenochtitlan. Another example would be the explorers forced the Natives to turn to Christianity which sounds like a dictatorship and an invasion. Another example would be the quote from Queen Elizabeth that said, "<em>To discover, search, find out any heathen or barbarous lands and countries not possessed by any Christian Prince or Christian people…to horde, occupy, take, and enjoy these lands</em>.” This clearly shows atrocities and wrongdoings. This is an act of racism.</div>]]></description>
