Teaching students to work as a team and I wanted them to play a game off leaf frog.
But my instructions where bad so they weren't able to fill in the assessment later.
luckily we were talking about giving bad instructions later in the lesson so we were able to use this as a great example. the students gave great feedback so I was able to use this feedback so it wouldn't happen again. ps. I have added the leapfrog and bad instructions into the lesson plan now

in completing a course on coffee baristering a student came up and thru her arms around me saying thank you for the support , help and patience I'd shown her. Due to her not been able to work fast in answering assessment questions she always got behind and had failed many courses. I sat with her and talked thru each question so she could hear and see what the answer was due to being open book and she was able to finish her assessment.

Good Assessment
A good assessment is an authentic assessment. For example assessing the practical skills of a clinical assessment of a patient. The student nurses I work with are engaged in the task and as well as assessing their physical assessment skills I can assess their communication technique, their empathy, rapport and care of the patient as well as assess underlying knowledge underpinning the rationale for the assessment.

Bad Assessment
A bad assessment is a lengthy written assignment where students who are challenged in language articulation do not do well despite having ability. I was interested to read the article by Steve Wheeler on authentic assessment and how it would be better to give student nurses case studies or reports to write as that greater relevance to their work/placement.
