Student Action: Read quietly, in their head, and actually Read the book. Don't be rude if you don't want to read a book, decline respectfully and acknowledge that reading is required. 

Teacher Action: Make sure to set an example to students by reading a book as well, and be mindful of every students reading capacities. Also teachers shouldn't be pushy about reading something, everything should be done with respect.
