I currently work as a Medi Cal Certified Peer Support Specialist at Tarzana Treatment Center where I provide services to support the recovery of the patients during their stay at the rehabilitation facility.

I also bared witness to how these entities affected the mental health and wellbeing of my cousins and parents and the challenges they had to overcome. Throughout this time and many other formative moments in my life, I felt an overwhelming urge to not only provide support for others in need, but also to be apart of what betters these systems. My family’s experiences and strengths drive me every day to be a better worker, to create a system in which people feel safe, and to be the worker I would have wanted for my family during that time.
