Bran castle began its build in 1377 and was completed in 1388. n 1438–1442, the castle was used in defense against the Ottoman Empire, and later was used as a customs post on the mountain. Bram castle has been one linked to his imprisonment after he was captured by the Hungarians in 1462. It was believed that Vlad was imprisoned in Castle Bran, but historians now believe that Vlad III was actually imprisoned in a fortress in Budapest. It is believed that stories of Vlad III's imprisonment provided a haunting and more dramatic looking structure than other castles of the region lending its name to the Book Dracula which is believed to be based off of Vlad III's. Historians and scholars alike have concluded that Vlad III likely never set foot in the castle.

This, supposedly, is one of the most haunted churches that we know of. Legend has it that the crazy pastor of the Egg Hill Church killed all his parishioners post-communion, and soon after, hung himself to death. People have reported hearing the cries of child victims that died at the hands of the pastor even though the building remains locked and empty. If that was not enough, word has it that the abandoned church and its premises are vandalized and haunted by ghosts

The Chernobyl nuclear disaster of Ukraine is a sad memory in the history of modern civilization. What’s haunting about this site? The church in the deserted region looks almost the way it was left. It can be hard to gauge when it's safe to emerge from your shelter, but most estimates suggest a minimum stay of 24-hours, and a maximum stay of 14-days - enough time for the initial radiation to fall to (relatively) safe levels. Fallout radiation decays relatively quickly with time. Most areas become fairly safe for travel and decontamination after three to five weeks.

On an ill-fated day in June 1944, the Nazi soldiers entered this town, and for some unknown reason, separated the men from their women and children. While the men were shot dead, the women and children were locked inside the church, which was then set ablaze and blasted with machine gunfire. Such is the history of this luckless town.

The prison was opened in 1996, it´s a maximum capacity prison. The longitude is 39.6058° N and the latitude is 78.8180° W, I picked this prison because I find the history of Joe Metheny entertaining. Joe Metheny is known as a cannibal and cooked the victims he killed into burgers, he would then serve his victims waiting in the meat shop the people/burgers. Joe was an American serial killer and was from Baltimore Maryland, he said he had killed 13 people in total though the evidence says he’s only killed two people. I had a lot of fun doing this project and I look forward to the next one! The photo above is a picture of the institution.

Isabella W

This medieval-era church, however, is no heritage site worthy of being cherished by today’s generations. Rather, interesting stories revolve around this former chapel. There´s a pleasent circular walk around Clophill, but what is most interesting in this old English village is the abandoned church, St Mary The Virgin, built around 1350 just outside the main settlement. There are a few odd things about this ancient little church, the most significant being that it was supposedly built facing the wrong direction.

Bodie State Historic Park is a genuine California gold-mining ghost town. Visitors can walk down the deserted streets of a town that once had a population of nearly 10,000 people. The town is named for Waterman S. Body (William Bodey), who had discovered small amounts of gold in hills north of Mono Lake. In 1875, a mine cave-in revealed pay dirt, which led to purchase of the mine by the Standard Company in 1877. People flocked to Bodie and transformed it from a town of a few dozen to a boomtown.
