This systems were developed by the <em>brahmins&nbsp;</em>at the time of The Buddha and Lord Mahavira. There were mainly four <em>ashramas</em>.<br><strong>1) </strong><strong><em>Brahmacharya </em></strong><strong>-&nbsp;</strong>In this&nbsp;<em>ashrama</em>, people have to lead simple lives and study the&nbsp;<em>Vedas</em> in the early stages of their lives.<br><strong>2)&nbsp;</strong><strong><em>Grihastha -&nbsp;</em></strong>In this ashrama, people had to marry and live as householders.<br><strong>3)&nbsp;</strong><strong><em>Vanaprastha&nbsp;</em></strong><strong>-&nbsp;</strong>In this ashrama, people have to leave their families and live in the forests for some part of their life.<br><strong><em>4) Samnyasa -&nbsp;</em></strong>Finally, they had to leave everything and become samnyasis (ascetics).</div>]]></description>
