Grant's presidency was balanced. Even though he was weighed down by his other leaders, I still think he was a great president. First of all, he gave African Americans voting rights. When the Ku Klux Klan was killing Sfrican Americans, he went down to South Carolina and all of the southern states and he  fought the Klan off. He also tried to make peace with Native Americans. However, scandals and corruptions shaped Grant's presidency. If a person does not go in-depth on how his presidency was, they would think he is a bad president based on these things. As the last video said, Grant accomplished more things in our country then any other president before that time, not even Lincoln! Grant was a very successful human rights activist. Although Grant did have some good acts, most decisions he had were bad. He had many friends in office with him that made huge scandals for themselves, and because Grant was friends with them, he would try to cover them up, making himself seem bad. I believed that he would have been a better president if he wasn't forced into presidency. He was led into many scandals and tried to play them off like they never happened. The military leardership before hand really gave him something to work off of, becuase he had no political experience.
