Until recently tho with tablets a different app was needed for each function.
Recently in Sweden we have got ClaroSpeak+ which has dictation, spellcheck, word prediction,  photoscanning/ocr and text to speech - all in one. There is a Swedish version and an English version.
Audio Note is good for combining recording, note taking and photos of a lesson etc.
Tablets are great value, incredibly powerful and versatile - and can do much of what required expensive specialized hardware earlier.

I think that now IP cameras are so cheap, the idea of having a camera network in each classroom is fantastic. Voiceover on iOS devices is also wonderful as students can use headphones and work in a way that suits them and does not disturb others.

For example, with pupils with low vision I use to change screen configuration (bigger icons, more contrast, font size,...), activate accessibility options on the OS (caps, screen reader, sounds, mouse shadow and speed,...), and give some advices to other teachers (orientation and distance to the screen, don't let innecesary icons on the desktop,...).

In programming I tried Scratch and Goofle Blockly. What ever WE DO FOR SEN STUDENTS is worthwhile and we become not only better Teachers but also BETTER people!! My love to all people/students with any disability. :)

I learned a lot by watching them and I'm going to show them the teachers in the school.
In our school there are no students with severe disabilities, we have a few students with autistic, students with ADHD and dyslexia and similar problems. 
Specialteachers use sometimes tablets and computers in their work with their students, but we have no specific tools to help them any further.
We use correction program and an interpreter to help dyslexia students and we have a behavioral psychologist part time to assist teachers to create lesson plan for their students. So I am not so experienced with SEN children.

I work in the hearing impaired school. I have more visual imagery in my lessons. First I show the work myself, then I want them to do it by making small changes. Every week I repeat the previous lesson quickly. Audio devices should be linked to scanners to read text from books to help either / or the visual or audio impaired.
Speech to text programs should help some students with exam submissions.

Our school provides for the necessary software and also laptops if they can't afford them. BYOD and dedicated software together with special measures and teaching and learning strategies are very helpful in my experience. I had a girl with dyslexia. For her English language was really hard but I helped her to overcome difficulties and fears using technology and teaching strategies. It helps alot. We mostly use Google solutions, Dropbox, pdf workbooks with Foxit reader or Kami for Google Drive. But sadly our language makes it a little bit difficult for us to use some things. We do not have a big market for companies for making software for us in Iceland.

They use computers, tablets and other specific technologies with their students. It’s  wonderful to see so many things that are being developed to improve the life of students with special needs.
