Automobiles didn't just bring good to people when they first came out, they also brought many negative aspects to families. They dramatically changed the budget of its owner, ministers would complain that people would rather go drive their car instead of going to church, and parents would complain about how much their kids were spending all their time ¨motoring¨

They were not only problems however, they brought good to those who owned one. They allowed them to get places farther and faster. Which also meant that this allowed them to get too places like new jobs they couldn't get before. Which also meant they would get more income to not only pay for their gas but to also pay for things in themselves allowing them to live a better life.

Cities were mostly gaining good instead of bad. For the worker class, their wages barely were enough for living and maybe sometimes were able to move into the slums in cities. The cities also mostly had inadequate water facilities, unpaved streets, overcrowding, and disease.

Most of the changes were good for cities in the new era. The middle class benefited from increasing incomes, increases in leisure time, and expanding city advantages. Department stores, chain stores, and shopping centers emerged to meet the growing demand of material goods.

Most of the immigrants that came into America didn't speak English which made living a little harder for them. Since the immigrants moved into cities for jobs, the cities became even more crowded then they already were. This effected city services and they were not able to not be able to keep up with the flow of newcomers. Most immigrants had found jobs, but they were only able to get the jobs that the native-born Americans didn't want to do.

They also had many advantages with their new lives. They were able to get away from the corrupt places they came from, and were able to get a fresh start here in America.
