- In writing class you have to learn to be greedy.
- When the audience changes, your message has to change.
- Readers prefer to know exactly what they’re reading before they start.
- Free yourself from the rules and learn to make rhetorical decisions.
I think when the audience changes, the message has to change as well resonates with me because it not only keeps the audience engaged but also myself.

Reading 1: thought it was a very laid back approach and one that opens up students to be able to express themselves.

Reading 2: the three broad principles were interesting. I thought it was good how it was emphasised showing rather than telling and writing about things you are curious about.

If you tell without showing, your reader might not only be confused but might entirely disbelieve you. So you're two strikes down.
Writing along with the text you will have a record of what you should've remembered, not just a pile of Hey!

Something that really stood out to me is how the author talked about the rules of writing. When I write, I tend to focus on the rules or rubric of the assignment which can make it hard to come up with ideas. Another thing that stood out to me was to focus about the audience when writing. It’s important to adapt to the audience and to have a distinct purpose in your writing.
