Huck’s conscience troubles him deeply about helping Jim escape from his “rightful owner,” Miss Watson, making him look <strong>livid</strong>.<br>2. Huck comes upon some men in a boat who want to search his raft for escaped slaves.&nbsp;<br>Ch 17&nbsp;<br>1. Buck says he would have<br>killed a Shepherdson had there been any Shepherdsons present.<br>2. Buck’s family, the Grangerfords, offer to let Huck stay with them for as long as he likes.<br>Ch 18<br>1. One day, Buck tries to shoot a young man named Harney Shepherdson but misses.&nbsp;<br>2. Huck learns that Sophia Grangerford has run off with Harney Shepherdson.</div>]]></description>

Huck introduces himself as "George Jackson" to the man. Once again he lies.<br>2. Huck innocently admires the house and its humorously tacky finery, including the work of a deceased daughter, Emmeline, who created unintentionally funny sentimental artwork and poems about people who died.<br><br>CH. 18<br><br>1. Both Grangerfords are killed.<br>2. Jim followed Huck to the shore but didn't dare to call out in fear of being caught.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
