I chose this image since grass is everywhere, and honestly I don't really notice it. But then sometimes when I'm walking barefoot I actually do think about what I'm walking on and then it stands out to me. Like wow this is kind of nice. Or its not and its soggy. Grass is also always changing and growing, just like what we learned in the chapters.

I think of English as a labyrinth or a maze. In English there are so many "paths" you can take whether it be all the different accent and dialects or whether it be using tools like morphology or semantics. Some ways of English can lead to a "dead end" such as using English in a way that is miscommunicated or intangible but there are also ways to use it well to get out of the maze

If I were to choose an image to describe English, it would be a field of grass. This is because English (and language in general) is pretty versatile. You can do a lot with it, just as you can do a lot in an empty field of grass.

I would describe "English" as a cloud because I feel like clouds are actually very scientific and complex underneath, but we don't notice that because it just looks like white fluff. This is because the book describes English as having all these grammatical intricacies. Also, people can find all different shapes in clouds so I think that represents the creativity that was outlines as well. Finally, clouds aren't actually solid so that shows how English is fluid and there's no standard.

You know the moving castle from Studio Ghibli's interpretation of Howl's Moving Castle? Something like that: this moving mechanical beast of cobbled-together parts nailed and screwed together, creaking across the landscape. It may be an eyesore, but isn't it majestic to see it in motion? Isn't it crazy and amazing that this gravity-defying magical thing can move, stomping across the grass heedless of what is destroys in its path? And the inside--it is filled with gorgeous, lush, impossible-to-know rooms and treasures to uncover!

English is made up of so many things, so that's why I chose this picture. Initially when we think of English, we may think of books and writing. However, as we've learned, it goes beyond that and beyond English in general. English as a language is so intricate, with infinite creative possibilities. In the photo, not only does it include English ideas/words, but also words in other languages.

If I needed to choose a picture I think it would be an image with a lot of gears, because if one gear breaks or is damage the other gears would probably not function as well as before just like language that it can work even thought you might do some grammar errors
