Protection of the society and the health of humans and other living beings from all activities that are environmentally harmful are also among the objectives of the law.

Since 1960s, the Emirate has been working on the creation and revival of several natural habitats and wildlife reserves which saved several endangered species from the brink of extinction. This included captive breeding and reintroduction programmes of Arabian Oryx, Houbara and many other endangered species of animals and birds, thus helping them return to the areas where they once roamed freely. In addition, initiatives to preserve groundwater reservoirs helped maintain a fine balance between the pace of today’s rapid development and the needs of future generation for a better life.

Sustainable development is development that takes place without damaging the environment. Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs is also called sustainable development.

Snakes are one of the most venomous reptiles and this is one of the main reasons we tend to kill the snakes. Not only snakes there are other animals which are harmful to us, even in this situation we tend to kill animals. Sometimes human beings unknowingly kill the non-venomous snakes which in turn affects the population and the food chain. 

To solve this problem and save these species we build bio reserves so that the future generations can have a look at the endangered species.  So when there are more bio reserves the balance in nature is equal .

In November 2007, the Marawah Marine Protected Area has been designated as the first Bio reserve in the UAE by UNESCO. The Marawah Marine Biosphere Reserve is situated west of Abu Dhabi Island, and is home to important marine and coastal ecosystems including sea grass beds, coral reefs and mangroves. There are other countries like India which has a total of fourteen biosphere reserves.

The main aim of UAE’s national agenda on sustainable development is to achieve a perfect balance between economic and social development. UAE’s government makes sure to protect people and nature.

Out of which is sustainable environment. This can be related to the chapter ‘The Snake’. Sustainable environment mean that devolvement should take place without harming the environment. In the poem D.H. Lawrence speaks about his encounter with a snake. He said that he gave respect to the snake as if he was a second comer. In the national agenda the vision is to conserve the biodiversity of UAE and respect the wildlife and treat them as one of us. In the national agenda the main motive is to not pollute the environment and to plant more trees so as to create an ecological balance between the environment and the industrial environment. The carbon content in the environment should have a balance with the amount of oxygen. Hence, this can be done by planting more trees to create a balance between the two gases. The UAE National Agenda, which was developed by over 300 officials from 90 federal and local government entities, includes a set of national indicators in the sectors of education, healthcare, economy, police and security, housing, infrastructure and government services. 
The targets of the national agenda includes :
 1. To set the standards for other governments and to be first worldwide in smart services.

2.Transform all schools and curricula to smart learning and increase investment in pre-school education.

3.Make the UAE the safest place on earth, and reduce the response time to emergency calls to a record time of four minutes.

4.Increase the per capita gross income by 65% over the next seven years

5.Become the first globally in land, sea and air infrastructure..and the world's first in ease of doing business.

6.Decrease the waiting period of eligibility for housing to two years from the date of application

7.Increase Emiratisation in the private sector 10 times.
