I agree with the man that is speaking in the video as he shows significant proof of how not having grades which could potentially develop the academics in the U.S. This could also help with student anxiety as many many people want to have a good grade in the class. Another reason why I agree with him is as a current student, when you learn more you do better on tests and if you have a quiz of some sort it would not help with the growth of the student. In conclusion I agree with what he says as it is very accurate information as I deal with it myself.

I think that the new learning method would be very helpful to students because lots of students are just aiming to get good grades and not trying to learn. Lots of students do not like school and they would rather enjoy hobbies or other things that they like. This new learning strategy could help students enjoy school more and not make school a thing that they are forced to do but a thing they want to do. In conclusion, I think that schools need to change their learning methods so that students can perform better and be less stressed.

I agree with the man in the video and I think that schools should try to implement what this teacher did with his students. It will make the students learn easier, it puts less stress on students, and it improved overall test scores. This is all very supportive of using learning mindsets in schools, as opposed to performance mindsets, as traditionally used.

I agree with the person talking in the video. What the man was trying to convey was, releasing the stress of a grade off students backs when assigning them assignments will actually make them perform better. The man in the video says he split his class into two groups, one was graded on correct answers to math problems, and the other was based on attempting the problem. Overall, the students gave themselves a grade based on the rubric of their class. The students whose homework was graded for completion received the better grade. I think this is a good idea, and should be used in schools around the U.S to release pressure and anxiety off of students.

Not using the traditional grade system could improve the academics of many students in America. Not having grades can erase anxiety from many children which could help mental health and well-being. A learning strategy like this will cause students to feel relaxed yet gain more intelligence simultaneously, as they are not afraid to make mistakes. Not being able to be afraid to make a mistake can show schools the true capability of students and how they can help each student based on the academics they are aware of. This is an effective strategy schools should use as it can benefit the education and health of students everywhere.

I think the strategy of teaching students to have a learning mindset is an effective method. Not only do the students perform better on final tests, they understand the concept better. Students are less afraid to try confusing problems and ask the teacher for help. Having a learning mindset helps the student learn that it's okay to make mistakes and not have to worry about failing or getting a bad grade. Overall, I think teaching students to have a learning mindset, over a performance mindset, helps provide the students with better grades and understanding the concepts without worrying about their grades.

I agree with the teacher speaking as he has decided to use a different way of teaching that has benefitted his students. Grading work on completion has significantly benefitted students rather than taking points off due to their mistakes. Not having grades could significantly improve students' scores and schools around the U.S. When students have grades they tend to focus on getting the best score possible and not realizing that they may not be learning the material. In conclusion, I think that students would learn more and would want to continue learning if this learning method was introduced in more schools.

My response to the man speaking in the video is that I agree with him that the school system should make a change to that. The man in the video gives plenty of examples on how this could help the school system and help students. He does also explain how this change could have negative sides by it taking longer to teach a topic. But overall I do think that he is right and I do agree with him because the teaching style makes school more about learning rather than trying to get good grades. In conclusion, I do agree with the man in the video because the teaching style he was explaining makes school better for learning.

-Alex k.

I think this is a really good idea, it has pros and cons to it, but it is good to see a different point of view. It is clear that grades do have a strong impact on student's lives and how they learn. Some students would just cram for a test the night before, and get a decent grade, but they don't learn anything from the unit. With this new idea provided, students are set to learn better and be less focused on simply performing. After all, the point of school is to learn and help students be successful in the real world. On the other hand, this proposal of a new grading system could hurt students by not preparing them for hard times in the real world. If getting a good grade simply took completing the homework and applying effort, then students wouldn't be prepared to fail a test. They might not learn to put in the work or to study by themselves if they are struggling. Overall, the idea provided for a new grading system is a good idea, but just like any other idea, it has some issues that can be fixed. It provides a new opportunity for students to not only focus on performing but also to learn. -Aarin. M

I agree with what the man in the video said I think that if homework is graded just for doing it students are likely to not care if they get a question wrong there for learning more because they feel more confident and less worried about getting everyone's question right.

Think the idea of letting kids make mistakes has great potential to let kids be more open to learning and trying new things because they are no longer afraid to make mistakes. Letting people have the freedom to be able to make mistakes, and still be able to have good grades is such a good opportunity to let kids learn. If this is implemented in other places it would be beneficial to all the kids who always worry about doing perfect on all their homework because now they don't have to have these perfect grades. The idea is honestly an amazing thing that should be proposed to schools nationally.

- Hannah E.

I agree with the speaker, as this new method of grading seems beneficial to not only the student's grades, but their mindset as well. Having a shared mindset for both learning and performance seems to have a positive effect on the students and how they view learning a material course vs how they end up doing on a test. Overall, the learning/grading strategy mentioned in the video is a good method to use on students because it teaches them to have a shared growth mindset while performing or learning, and knowing that it is okay to make mistakes while learning.
