<title>Hi, my name is Kelli Olvera and I am in the MSN FNP track. I have chosen this track so that I can build on the foundation that I already have obtained with my 10 years of nursing experience. I have a desire to dig deeper and help patients on a deeper level and this has been a huge factor in my decision to further my education and I feel this program will allow me to do just that. I have not had any MSN classes before. I graduated from a very small school, Saltillo High School in 2002 and then attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas where I received my BSN in 2007. Upon graduation I went to work for Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler for 3 years on the med surg floor working day and night shift, precepting new nurses, and charging. I then transferred to the Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Winnsboro where I worked an additional 6 years. Because Winnsboro is such a small hospital, I was able to gain valuable experience in not only continuing in Med Surg as a charge nurse, but also working in the Emergency Room, wound care clinic, GI Lab, Ortho clinic, hospice care, and most recently my last year as a case manager. I was also assisted with the Skilled nursing unit that the hospital has there currently. I was also able to assist doctors at the bedside with procedures that were not available to me in the larger facility. I chose to leave the workforce last year in August so that I could be a full time mom to my 5 year old little boy, who just started Kindergarten and my 8 year old daughter, who is now in 3rd grade. I have been married for 11 years to my husband, and we have a business of building boathouses and retaining walls on the lakes out here in the country where we live and grew up. Upon completing this program, I hope to work locally at either a Sulphur Springs or Winnsboro Clinic. I feel the rural setting is where I am called to be so that I may continue to offer great care and be able to further educate the members of my community. Thank you!</title>
